Overview

VK1000 Professional Stereo Power Amplifier

The VK series uses the BOX DESIGN chassis: a distinct faceplate layout with the gain controls and the level ladder grouped in the centre of the panel. The power ladder steps 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 W per channel at 8 Ω, with 3900 W available in bridge mode on the VK1200.

All four models are 2U high, which keeps a rack tidy when several amplifiers share one cabinet. The measured performance matches the rest of the range: ≥110 dB signal to noise, ≥80 dB separation, a damping factor of ≥800 at 8 Ω, an 80 V/us slew rate and THD+N below 0.01% at 8 Ω / 1 kHz (below 0.05% on the VK600).

The VK1200 weighs 27 kg, the VK600 21 kg, and every model carries the same DC, short circuit, over temperature and soft start protection.

The VK1000 is one of the power steps of the series: 2 × 1000 w into 8 ω, 2 × 1600 w into 4 ω, 3200 w bridged, 25 kg in a 2U chassis measuring 89 × 483 × 472 mm. It shares the circuit, the protection design and the measured performance of the rest of the VK Series, so the choice inside a series comes down to output power and chassis height.

Power ratings follow the EIA standard and are measured with a 40 ms pulse of a 1 kHz sine wave at 1% total harmonic distortion.
